It's not even 10am on Sunday morning and queues have already built up around the car park outside the Aldi on Wilmslow Road in Didsbury .
People loaded with a shopping trolley await as the doors open to stock up on toilet roll, pasta, rice and hand gel - that's if it hasn't already been snapped up.
Residents also reported that other stores, including both Tesco supermarkets in Didsbury and Burnage, had similar scenes. It's this very kind of panic buying that a Manchester councillor is now warning against, and he's written to the Council directly to try and address the issue before things get any worse.
