'Machete' attack in Uddingston as man 'covered in blood' rushed to hospital

A man was rushed to hospital after being attacked with a weapon on a Scots street.Emergency services descended on Main Street, Uddingston, at around 2pm on Thursday, March 3.

Police confirmed a 43-year-old man was raced to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after being 'assaulted'. According to local reports, the man was attacked with a machete.Eyewitnesses reported seeing horror scenes on the local street, where a man was reportedly seen bleeding from his head.One resident said: "I walked by on my way to Tesco.

All I know is the guy was drenched in blood from a head wound and people were tending to him."The sheer amount of blood was pretty jarring."Another added: "I passed on Main Street and there was a guy dripping with blood, looked like a big gash to the head."Police have launched an appeal for information, with enquiries said to be ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Main Street, Uddingston at around 2pm on Thursday, 3 March, 2022, following reports that a 43-year-old man had been assaulted. "He has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and enquiries are ongoing. "Anyone who has any information, or dashcam footage, is urged to contact police via 101 quoting reference 1602 of Thursday, 3 March, 2022."
