THIS Morning's Martin Lewis got emotional on the show today as he spoke movingly about the rocketing price of energy. Explaining that nobody knew what would happen next he called the crisis, which will see many faced with eye-watering bills, "horrendous".
Millions of people on standard variable tariffs are set to see their bills rise by hundreds of pounds from April 1. That's because the price cap that controls gas and electricity will go up by nearly £700 for the average dual fuel account.
Martin was today attempting to advise This Morning viewers whether to bag fixed deals or stay on variable tariffs. He said: "I've never had anything like this before.
Energy used to be giving people a standard answer on what's cheaper." Putting his hands on his head Martin, 49, added: "Now I'm having to do risk analysis.
