A village less than 15 miles away from Manchester has been named one of the poshest in Britain. The former home to David and Victoria Beckham, Nether Alderley has been listed among the Daily Telegraph's 54 poshest villages.

Nether Alderley's, near Alderley Edge in Cheshire, inclusion is based on the combination of highest house prices, best lifestyle amenities, connectivity and chocolate-box appeal, CheshireLive reports. Another 57 percent said that the demand was coming from those unable to buy where they wanted. Savills said that many prospective buyers are choosing to rent in the high-end country markets while they wait for a property to become available in their preferred area so as to be chain-free.

The average house price in Nether Alderley is £1,268,175, with the Daily Telegraph listing three points that make it appealing to the posh, including its glamorous boutiques and bars, location with the Golden Triangle and it's popularity with sports stars.
