Workers have rushed back to a busy road near Bury after an embarrassing gaffe left motorists feeling confused. A new sign was installed on Bolton Road North earlier today (January 24), near the border of Ramsbottom and Rossendale.
The sign was installed to direct drivers towards the roundabout for the A56 to Bury or Blackburn, and the A680 towards Rochdale. Instead of giving drivers instructions on the northbound side of Bolton Road North towards the roundabout, it was actually put up outside Stubbins Primary School, heading away from the busy junction.
Workers soon returned to the scene to sort the sign out this afternoon - but not before dozens of people laughed at the gaffe on social media.
