‘The Office’ Characters Coming to ‘Funko Fusion’ Video Game
variety.comJennifer Maas TV Business Writer Funko‘s new video game “Funko Fusion” is expanding its roster of characters to include the employees of Dunder Mifflin.
Later this year, the newly released title from 10:10 Games will launch “The Office“-centric downloadable content, one of several planned updates coming to “Funko Fusion” following its Sept.
13 release across PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X/S. The game is a co-op action title that mashes up characters from “Jurassic World,” “Back to the Future” and more beloved, largely NBCUniversal, IP into Funko Pop!
format alongside hero Freddy Funko and his evil twin Eddy Funko. “What the team has delivered feels like a wholly additive piece to ‘The Office,'” Funko vice president of licensing Jason Bischoff told Variety. “So without being specific around the execution in the hows and the whos, the way ‘The Office’ has found itself in-game feels not only organic to ‘Funko Fusion,’ in that maybe some of your favorite characters have a unique melee attack, ranged attack, or special ability, as all characters in-game do, but it also feels additive to ‘The Office.’ I should be clear what it isn’t.
