Teenage boy hospitalised after being hurt in woodland fire involving paint cannister

A teenage boy has been hospitalised after suffering injuries during a fire in a wooded area in Bolton. The blaze on Angelbank in Horwich is believed to have involved a paint cannister, a fire service spokesperson said.

A casualty was taken to hospital following the incident this evening. It is understood that the injured person is a teenage boy.

It's also understood that the the boy ran from the wooded area in pain and went to a nearby house for help. Neighbours reported seeing a large emergency services presence including firefighters, paramedics and police officers. The emergency services were first called to the scene at 5.30pm. A spokesperson for GMFRS said: "At approximately 5.30pm on Monday, 2nd May, firefighters were called to an incident on Angelbank, in Horwich, Bolton.
