A bully with a record of domestic abuse punched his partner in the head after an argument about cigarettes.Vile Euan McGoldrick, 36, also threatened to murder his dead mother’s former partner after a funeral arrangement mix up.The brute who has “numerous domestic incidents on his record” admitted making threats to murder Tara McInnes on September 7, last year and to punching his partner, Joanne McGuire’s head on March 25. Procurator fiscal depute Amber Feeney told Paisley Sheriff Court: “Witnesses McInnes and Holden were within the living room of a flat in Renshaw Road, Elderslie, when they heard a banging on the door and a male voice they recognised as the accused.“He was shouting through the letterbox, ‘If I see you at the grave, I’m going to murder you.’“Both stayed quiet so that McGoldrick thought they weren’t in and they waited some time until he left.

Thereafter they contacted police.”The court heard various attempts were made to trace the accused and he ended up handing himself into Renfrew Police Office after a contact card had been left with a family member on December 28, 2021.Ms Feeney explained that on March 25, this year, McGoldrick and his brother spent the day drinking alcohol at his Seedhill Road flat.Ms Feeney added: “Around 7pm the accused went to his partner, Joanne McGuire’s house and continued to drink alcohol.“The witness McFarlane and McGuire, as well as the accused were then involved in an argument over money
