lockdown so far – and nobody wants it to backfire.I believe the Scottish Government is well aware that there is a lot of anxiety among staff, parents and pupils.They have been keen to consult with us.The guidance we have at this point is to reduce class sizes to support physical distancing wherever possible.But what we would like is something a bit more concrete on how this will happen.It makes sense from an education perspective as well as a health point of view.In a letter I sent to the Deputy First Minister John Swinney, I make the point that when we were talking about blended learning, a lot of energy went into looking at expanding the school estate and employing extra teachers.But that now seems on the back burner despite 3000 teachers.
