A conspiracy theory suggesting Taylor Swift penned the novel Argylle has been dismissed by the film's director Matthew Vaughn.Spy-thriller Argylle was published earlier this month under the name Elly Conway, and fans of Swift have speculated the 34-year-old American pop-superstar, who is set to perform at Murrayfield in Edinburgh this June, could have written the book.Vaughn, 52 – who is the filmmaker behind Layer Cake, Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, and the Kingsman films – said in an interview with Rolling Stone UK the music artist “definitely didn’t write the book”.Punters made the link as the novel’s title is Argylle and Swift has a history of wearing argyle sweaters.
