Sony Pictures Ups Keith Le Goy To Chairman Of Distribution And Networks

Keith Le Goy has been promoted to chairman of distribution and networks at Sony Pictures Entertainment.The promotion gives the company three chairman-level execs running the studio’s main areas of business.

The others are Tom Rothman, chairman of the motion picture group, and Ravi Ahuja, chairman of the company’s global television studios and corporate development.SPE chairman Tony Vinciquerra confirmed the promotion in a memo to employees. (Read it in full below.)Le Goy, who had been president of worldwide distribution and networks, recently spearheaded two major deals with Netflix and Disney, which both closed earlier this spring.

The family of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins has finally taken legal action against the Rust producers, including Alec Baldwin, nearly 4 months after her tragic on-set death. Lawyer Brian Panish filed a wrongful death lawsuit Tuesday (Feb. 15) in New Mexico on behalf of Halyna’s husband Matthew and their 9-year-old son Angelo, according to multiple reports. The lawsuit specifically called out Alec, 63, and the film’s producers for their “reckless behavior” on the film’s set the day Halyna died (Oct. 21). For those that forget, Alec accidentally discharged a prop gun that killed Halyna and injured director Joel Souza during filming.

Sony Pictures Entertainment veteran exec Keith Le Goy has been named chairman of distribution and networks. The announcement was made by SPEchairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra, who wrote that Le Goy will continue to oversee Sony Pictures Television’s international networks operations, programming and strategy group, and the Funimation division, as well as "co-lead our recently mergedtheatrical, home entertainment and television distribution and marketing businesses with Josh Greenstein, with Tom Rothman’s oversight." Le Goy recently led negotiations on the pay-one window deal with Netflix and the subsequent pay-two window deal with Disney.
