Son jailed for beating dad to a pulp after robbing his own 83-year-old gran

A thug who viciously beat his own father to a pulp has been sent to jail. Nathan Brine battered left his dad with a broken eye socket, forehead and jaw during a drug fuelled attack.

Mr Brine who had a history of attacking family members had just been recently released from prison for a robbery on against his 83-year-old grandmother.

Despite the vicious attack Mr Brine's father refused to go to hospital for two days out of "affection" for his son and loyalty to the family but they had a long history of fighting over the years, Hull Crown Court heard. Brine, 28, of Longden Street, Hull, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on his father on April 27. Paul Genney, prosecuting, said that, after Brine was released from prison, his 53-year-old father offered him a home but "things didn't work out" because Brine took drugs and became difficult and controlling.
