son has gone on trial accused of breaking a court order by writing letters to his 84-year-old mum.Joseph Carson, 63, is said to have breached the order banning him from contacting his mother, Jane Carson, by sending her "correspondence."He denies the claims and went on trial at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday without appearing in the dock.Sheriff David Pender told the jury: "Unusually, we do not have an accused."Mr Carson has decided he does not want to participate in the trial."The court heard that Carson, of Campbeltown, Argyll and Bute, was made the subject of a Non-Harassment Order (NHO) at the Renfrewshire court on September 1, 2017.Court papers state the NHO meant he was "required to refrain from such conduct in relation to Jane.
