SNP 'inaction' blamed by Labour for rising number of violent incidents in Scottish schools

Scottish Labour has pledged to take a zero-tolerance approach to violence in schools if the party wins power at the next Holyrood election.Pam Duncan-Glancy, the party's education spokeswoman took aim at the Scottish Government today and blamed its "inaction" for a rising number of incidents involving pupils and staff.Figures released by Unison last month found found that 67 per cent of teachers and support staff surveyed by the union said they had encountered general verbal abuse between pupils within a week period - while 59 per cent had dealt with physical aggression and 43 per cent had experienced physical violence between pupils.The Record has led the way in drawing attention to the issue of violence in schools with its Our Kids...
