Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums. John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, as well as seven consecutive number-one albums in the United States, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10 singles, four of which peaked at number two and nine of which reached number one. His tribute single "Candle in the Wind 1997", rewritten in dedication to Diana, Princess of Wales, sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts. He has also produced records and occasionally acted in films. John owned Watford F.C. from 1976 to 1987 and from 1997 to 2002, and is an honorary life president of the club.

Sir Elton John at Glastonbury 'may be last UK show' with The Killers frontman among special guests

Sir Elton John has left fans in awe with a stellar performance at Glastonbury as he took to the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night for a "special and emotional" show.The Rocket Man singer, 76, took to the stage in front of thousands of screaming fans while fireworks lit up the sky as he took a seat on his piano.

This highly anticipated performance has been dubbed as Sir Elton's final UK gig before he retires from touring at the end of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.After performing The Bitch Is Back, Sir Elton told the crowd: "I never thought I would ever play Glastonbury and here I am. "It's a very special and emotional night for me because it might be my last show ever in England, so I had better play well and I had better entertain you, you've been standing there so long and I really appreciate all the outfits and everything." He then launched into renditions of Benny And The Jets, Daniel, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues.

Sir Elton's husband David Furnish previously revealed the singer was to be joined by four special guests during his headline set.

David could be seen watching the performance from the side lines Paul McCartney and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The special guests taking to the stage included The Killer's frontman Brandon Flowers, Stephen Sanchez, Jacob Lusk of The Gabriels, and Rina Sawayama as Elton’s fourth and final guest of the evening.As Stephen took to the stage to perform his own song, Elton told the crowd: "When I chose my guests for this show, I wanted to have newer artists save for one person and this next boy I heard last year on the radio in America, and then it was a hit America and a hit in Britain.
