Scrambler bikes to support East Ayrshire police in anti-social behaviour crackdown

Scrambler bikes will be a new tool at the disposal of East Ayrshire police when it comes to cracking down on anti-social behaviour.Officers responding to incidents and concerns in areas with challenging terrain will be able to utilise the machines.It's hoped this will allow police to get to troublespots much quicker than at present.The bikes are as a result of a partnership between Ayrshire Police Division and East Ayrshire Council in preventing and tackling the scourge of anti-social behaviour.And they can be used by officers who have received advanced training.Chief Inspector Nathan Calderwood insists police won't tolerate anti-social behaviour as he urged folk to help root it out within their communities.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football news and the latest on the coronavirus crisis – at your fingertips 24/7.The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories while you can customise your page with the sections that matter to you.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now on iOS and Android.He said: “I am delighted to work alongside our partners at East Ayrshire Council.“These bikes will allow officers to reach areas that are harder to get to using conventional vehicles and to arrive a lot quicker. “We are aware how much misery anti-social behaviour can cause in our communities and we are committed to working with partners to prevent it.
