John Swinney has warned Scots planning to travel to England to celebrate Hogmanay that it would be the "wrong course of action".

The Deputy First Minister said while there is nothing to stop party-goers from heading south of the border - where nightclubs are still open - it would go against the “spirit” of guidance put in place by the Scottish Government.
