Scots postie who 'never missed a day's work' left bed bound months after devastating MND diagnosis

motor neurone disease (MND). Paul Ottley, 65, worked for the Royal Mail in Glasgow for more than 20 years and was only diagnosed with the degenerative condition in December.

Nicknamed 'Otto' by workmates at the sorting office where he worked, Paul was hospitalised on Boxing Day and spent a month in Gartnavel hospital.

He is now bed-bound at home. Daughter Dawn, 36, told the Record: "Since December, he hasn’t been the same man. He was in hospital for four weeks and up until then, he was only managing to get about the house by shuffling and holding onto walls."He has been in a hospital bed since January.
