Scots pensioner left with serious head injury after daylight street attack

A manhunt is underway after a Scots OAP was battered in broad daylight. Police received reports of a man being assaulted in Forrest Road, Edinburgh, at around 2.30pm on Friday.

Officers found a 73-year-old man with a serious head injury at the scene and he was rushed to Royal Infirmary Edinburgh for treatment.

His current medical condition was not disclosed by police. The suspect is described as being in his late twenties, between five foot, ten inchess and six foot tall and of a muscular build, with facial hair.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark, hooded jacket and spoke with a local accent.Police said he was accompanied by another man who is described as being in his late twenties and of a similar height, with black hair and facial hair.He was wearing an orange jacket.Officers urge those with dash cam footage to come forward.Any information that could help with their probe can be passed on anonymously.
