A company director has been spared jail for a violent, unprovoked attack on a "highly vulnerable" man in a snooker hall. Allan Harrison was instead ordered to pay his victim thousands of pounds in compensation.
Harrison, who runs joinery firm Barrington Windows and Doors Ltd, and an unidentified other set upon Rory Acheson in August last year.He pushed him on the body, grabbed him by the throat, followed him and then rained punches on his head.
The attack, which took place at Potters Snooker and Pool Club, in Largs, Ayrshire, was so violent it left Mr Acheson suffering a double fracture to his jaw.
Harrison denied he was responsible for the attack, claiming it was actually another mystery man who had carried out the attack.
