Brutally honest Ryan Porteous reckons there were people who wanted Scotland to fail against Ukraine as soon as they spotted his name on the team sheet.
The Hibs defender earned his first senior international cap in the crucial Nations League fixture in Krakow, and played a vital role in securing the goalless draw that saw Steve Clarke 's side top group B1 and guarantee a Euro 2024 play off and moves the country up to second seeds.
The 23-year-old's heroic display was topped off by an inch-perfect tackle on Oleksandr Zubkov as the Ukraine sub let fly in the final moments of the draw, to help secure the all-important clean sheet.
