Vata's future at Parkhead is up in the air with his contract due to expire at the end of the season and talks stalling. There's been interest in the prodigious 18-year-old from Italy and he can take his pick of top clubs if he does choose to walk away in the summer for a compensation fee.He was given a show of faith by Brendan Rodgers in their recent Scottish Cup win over Buckie Thistle, however, and took his chance, coming off the bench to convert a Mikey Johnston cross for his first senior goal.
Rodgers said after the game he wants him to stay but admitted only he can decide his fate. But dad Rudi, who made 60 appearances for Celtic in the 1990s and was capped 59 times for Albania during his nomadic career, reckons his boy has time on his side.
And he believes any disagreements with Rodgers or the coaching staff over his gametime should be parked for now - as Celtic is the best place for him at this early stage in his career.
