Rhys Darby Says ‘Flight Of The Conchords’ Reunion Has Been Discussed

New Zealander Rhys Darby made a splash in the United States in 2007 for his portrayal of band manager Murray Hewitt in HBO’s Flight of the Conchords, a series that ended after only two short seasons.

And while he and his co-stars Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie have all moved on to other projects, the trio might surprise fans one day with a reunion. “We’re always discussing the sort of things we’d like to do in the future and looking back at the classic things we’ve done,” Darby revealed to Deadline at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday night where he presented golden statuettes in multiple categories. “There will come a time when the world really, really needs [the reunion] and we will suddenly appear.” Additionally, the actor and comedian said he’d be into reprising the role of Anton the werewolf from the hit indie film What We Do In The Shadows as the series adaptation from his collaborators Clement and Taika Waititi heads into its final season on FX. “I would love to, of course.

He plays the fan-favorite character Stede Bonnet, a wealthy Barbadian landowner looking for a little adventure. Season 2 premiered in October and is pending a new season pickup.
