Raven Symone Reveals She Had Two Cosmetic Procedures Before She Was 18 Because of Body Shaming

Raven Symone is opening up about getting not just one, but two cosmetic surgeries when she was just a teenager.

The 37-year-old actor opened up to wife Miranda Pearman-Maday on their podcast, The Best Podcast Ever with Raven and Miranda, about what she went through, and revealed that her reasons for going through with them was due to body shaming. Keep reading to find out more… “I had two breast reductions and lipo before I turned 18,” she shared on the program. Raven went on, revealing that her dad not only signed off on it, but encouraged it as well. “There was paperwork involved,” she shared. “My dad suggested strongly that I should get my breasts reduced.

He was like, ‘So you don’t feel bad, is there anything that you want?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, if I get lipo, will people stop calling me fat?’” Raven added that “it was just a mess, just being that young and the pain of it all.” She then recalled having a seizure after them: “I remember waking up and seeing everything … and then I just started to have this dry mouth and couldn’t breathe and went back under.” Raven also revealed that those weren’t her last procedures – she went in for another reduction because her breasts were “still too big” after she gained weight.
