However, the club announced in a statement from Wilson’s family that the former Light Blues great will no longer be able to attend the stadium.They said: “The Wilson Family would like to announce that due to ongoing Alzheimer’s and dementia issues, Rangers legend, Davie Wilson, has now retired from attending Ibrox on match days to watch his beloved Rangers.”A Scottish football great, Wilson won eleven major honours during elven years at Ibrox from 1956 to 1967.
He also won 22 caps for Scotland and scored 10 goals for his country included in a win over England at Hampden in 1962. A left winger, Wilson helped Rangers reach the 1960 European Cup semi-final and 1961 Cup.
