Raf jets scrambled from Scottish base in response to 'unidentified aircraft'

Jets have been launched from Scottish RAF base in Lossiemouth in response to an "unidentified aircraft", The Royal Air Force has confirmed.

The typhoon jets from the Moray base were joined by a Voyager air-to-air refuelling tanker from RAF Brize Norton following suspicions over an aircraft entering UK skies.

It is not the first time that jets have been launched in order to tackle such as aircraft approaching UK airspace, reports Manchester Evening News.

The RAF routinely intercepts aircrafts deemed unidentifiable when crossing into skies considered as the "UK area of interest".
