Rabbit ‘smashed to death with cinder block’ in Scots Sainsbury's car park

An animal cruelty investigation has been launched by police over reports that a wild rabbit was ‘smashed’ to death with a cinder block.

The alarming incident allegedly took place in the car park of a Sainsbury’s supermarket on Garthee Road in Aberdeen on Tuesday evening.

Local reports claim a group of young children had been seen ‘acting suspiciously’ in the area near an upturned shopping basket.Eyewitnesses reported seeing the youths ’deliberately’ kill the animal with a brick after managing to trap it in the carrier.Police Scotland have confirmed they are investigating.
