Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.

He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, KCVO ADC (Henry Charles Albert David;15 September 1984) is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales and is sixth in the line of succession to the British throne. Harry was educated at Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and Eton College. He spent parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho. He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Prince Harry's final straw in his decision to leave the Firm was after a touching family video without him was shared by the royals, according to claims.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were stepping down from their royal duties in January 2020 which came just weeks after Buckingham Palace posted a sweet clip of the late Queen with her grandson, Prince George.The video which was posted on official social media accounts, showed the former monarch with her three heirs, Prince George, Prince William and the then Prince Charles as they gathered at the palace on Christmas Eve while George enthusiastically stirred a Christmas pudding.The late Queen recorded her annual Christmas TV address hours later while pictures on display of her with William and Kate were shown but none with Prince Harry and Meghan, the Mirror reports.According to news.com.au's royal writer Daniela Elser: "The excising of Harry and Meghan from the tableau had been a last-minute change, according to Christopher Andersen's Brothers And Wives."According to Andersen, just before Her late Majesty was due to begin filming, she 'looked over the table where the photographs she had so lovingly selected were arranged. 'That one,' said the Queen, surveying the other images of past and future monarchs and their families.
