Police have revealed some of the shocking excuses drivers gave after being caught on the roads with no insurance, tax or a valid licence.
One driver said insurance was too expensive because they had previously been banned for drink driving. Another motorist said they were only driving because it was a 'family emergency'.
And another said they were just popping to the shops with their baby. "Absolutely none of these 'excuses' are valid for driving a car on the roads with no licence, insurance or tax," officers said on the GMP Chorlton and Didsbury Facebook page.
