Hundreds of people gathered in the sunshine in Platt Fields Park on Wednesday - despite police warning they will fine anyone breaking coronavirus restrictions.

As the temperature hit 20°C yesterday, and with new lockdown rules meaning groups of six can now meet outdoors, the Fallowfield park was packed.

But once again this morning the grass was strewn with empty beer cans, bottles and gas canisters. Christian and Dani, a local couple and regular park users, were helping to clear up the rubbish.
