Letham residents enjoyed a Christmas moment round their community tree last week.A Christmas tree was donated by Perth and Kinross Council’s The Westbank Project and people came to see the lights switched on last Wednesday, December 13.This tree will be lasting longer than the festive season as it has been planted outside the Letham Community Hub, a brand new focal point for local activities due to open early next year.Letham4All trustee and Perth City North councillor John Rebbeck, said: “The Christmas light switch-on has become a lovely Letham tradition.“Our new ‘live’ Christmas tree is beautiful and I look forward to seeing it grow with Letham4all as the years go on.“I am also looking forward to being in our new hub early in 2024.” Bringing cheer with his singing was local musician, Parliamo band member Jack Dailly and hearts were touched by singing from Our Lady’s Primary School pupils.

Commenting on the happy scene, community development officer Karina George said: “Our thanks go to the local musician playing us out with some fun Christmas carols and the local pupils learning the songs and joining in. "Also thanks to the teachers and adults that helped them along tonight, the kind folks in our community who donated and wrapped 300 selection boxes, to our wonderful volunteers and community for the support to provide a lovely evening filled with hot chocolate, marshmallows and mince pies and thank you to the special visitors, all the way from the North Pole.”
