Performances at Manchester's Palace Theatre have today been cancelled due to what the venue described as 'Covid-enforced absences'.

Currently, the musical hit 'The Book of Mormon' is showing at the venue, on Oxford Street, until January 1st. However, in an announcement made less than two hours before the performance was due to start this evening, the 19th century theatre confirmed that the show would not be going ahead.

A statement on the Palace Theatre social media pages confirmed that tonight and tomorrow nights performance (December 14 and 15) had been cancelled.

The post explained that this was due to 'Covid-enforced absences' and offered ticket holders a chance to rebook or claim a refund.
