Almost 30,000 people tested positive for coronavirus in just one week in Greater Manchester - as infection rates continue to soar in all ten boroughs.
As Christmas Day approaches, five boroughs now have rates above 1,000 cases per 100,000 people for the first time since the pandemic began.
Trafford continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in the region. The borough recorded a rate of 1,365.9 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending December 20, according to the latest data from the UK Health Security Agency.
