Over 50 penalty notices given by police to Lanarkshire residents during lockdown

A total of 57 people were given fixed penalty notices by the police to members of the public flouting coronavirus restrictions.The new figures, for offences listed between March 27 and April 9, comes as Chief Superintendent Alan Waddell, divisional commander, thanked people across Lanarkshire for staying at home.Cops have been given new powers by the Scottish Government to fine people for breaking coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
