And a number of people posted stunning images over the UK this evening, especially in the northern sections of the country: Metereological account Carlow Weather had posted on X: "Sun sets on a good day and some good clear spells over next few hours before that cloud moves in from Southwest so a chance to see some Northern lights with long exposure mode on camera on phone." WalesOnline reports that according to Spaceweather.com March is the best month to see the northern lights.
A 75-year study from retired NASA solar physicist David Hathaway shows that March has more geomagnetically active days than any other month of the year.
