'Nomadland' Heading Straight to Disney+ in U.K.

Chloé Zhao's Nomadland, one of the most honored films of the current awards season and heavily tipped for Oscars glory, is heading straight to Disney+ in the U.K.

before cinemas are currently set to reopen. The Searchlight Pictures title —starring Frances McDormand —will now premiere on the new Star hub on Disney+ in the U.K.

and Ireland on April 30 and be made available to all Disney+ subscribers at no additional charge. Once cinemas reopen, currently set for May 17, the film will also be available for exhibitors to program.

It's a similar story across Disney's other European territories of Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Iceland, where Nomadland will be landing on Star on April 30.
