The region's hospital death toll now stands at 2,140, the latest NHS figures show.Nationally, four new deaths of people with COVID-19 in hospitals have been announced but none in the entire north west region.The four patients were aged between 78 and 84 and all had underlying health conditions.

These are deaths where the person had tested positive for the virus or where COVID-19 was mentioned on their death certificate.These often sometimes include previously uncounted deaths that took place several days - or even weeks ago.However they do not.
