Nith Inshore Rescue Team staged a bumper 40th anniversary dinner in Dumfries and revealed a crew was on standby on the night for emergencies.More than 100 guests attended the event at the Easterbrook Hall, at the Crichton.However, guests were told that despite the celebrations, a number of crew at the bash were ready for any call out and the team’s Isuzu D-Max, loaned from Lloyd Limited of Dumfries, was parked outside.Vice chairman Laurie Irving said: “The Isuzu wasn’t parked outside the hall for show, it was in case we got a shout and the car would be used to take the crew to our headquarters in Glencaple to get the boat out.“I was one of the guys on standby and so was our treasurer, Gwilym Gibbons, so there were no drinks for us on the
