Nine children in hospital as 'chemical leak' at leisure centre sparks evacuation

Nine children have been rushed to hospital following a chemical leak at a leisure centre. The youngsters were enjoying a swim at the Everyone Active in Vale Farm, Wembley, when noxious fumes are said to have been released and emergency services were contacted.

A large number of mercy crews pictured outside the facility, which has now been cordoned off by cops. The Metropolitan Police said officers responded to reports of a chlorine leak at the site on Watford Road, reports the Mirror.The London Ambulance Service were also called around the same time and sent ambulance crews, incident reponse officers and members of their hazardous area response team (HART).

Fire engines were also at the scene.Nine children and two adults were found to be in need of medical attention and rushed them to hospital where they're currently being treated.

There has been no update as to their conditions at this stage.
