Nicola Sturgeon is to hold talks that could pave the way for an official site where addicts can inject drugs more safely.The First Minister will meet activist Peter Krykant on January 7 – five days before she chairs a meeting of the Scottish Drug Deaths Taskforce for the first time.They will explore the prospect of Scotland making legal history, defying Westminster by opening an Overdose Prevention Centre (OPC) north of the Border.The SNP leader agreed to the meeting on the same day Public Health Minister Joe FitzPatrick resigned – indicating that she is giving the radical venture serious consideration.FitzPatrick had refused to even visit Krykant’s “safe injection” van when it parked outside Holyrood earlier this month, claiming a police.
