Nicola Sturgeon has announced all covid restrictions implemented around the festive period on pubs and restaurants will be lifted next week.The First Minister revealed that due to the slowing down of Omicron cases there could be a lifting of restrictions across the country.During an announcement to the Scottish Parliament earlier this afternoon, she announced that nightclubs, which have been closed for a number of weeks, can reopen as usual from Monday, January 24.The decision by the Scottish Government will be a boost to businesses across Renfrewshire who have struggled since measures were brought in. Sturgeon told MSPs: “Yesterday the limit on attendances at outdoor public events was lifted.“The remaining statutory measures introduced in response to Omicron are as follows; limits on attendance at indoor public events; the requirement for one-metre physical distancing between different groups in indoor public places; the requirement for table service in hospitality premises serving alcohol on the premises and the closure of nightclubs.“Given the improving situation - and as I said last week we hoped to be able to do - I can confirm today that all of these measures will be lifted from next Monday.”The First Minister also announced that people are still being asked to work from home and to take lateral flow tests before meeting with others.Sturgeon told MSPs that Scotland had “turned the corner on the Omicron wave”.Guidance advising
