A takeaway is back on the menu for a former bank building in Beith.A businessman has asked North Ayrshire Council for the go ahead to convert the old Bank of Scotland in Eglinton Street into a hot food carry-out.A planning application lodged with the local authority does not state what type of grub would potentially be up for grabs – but plans include two fryers.Similar proposals for the building were knocked back by planners in 2019 and 2020 – with another withdrawn in 2021.But applicant Mohammad Jawad is seeing approval for a change of use which could give the property a new lease of life.Neighbours were notified of the plans on Monday, September 12 and planners will rule on the matter in due course.Don't miss the latest Ayrshire headlines – sign up to our free daily newsletter here
