New Manchester arena Co-Op Live can be 'catalyst' for region's economy say bosses as contracts signed and work begins

Work has now begun in earnest on Co-Op Live, the 23,500 capacity indoor music and sports arena next door to the Etihad Stadium, which is set to become the biggest in Britain.

The American firm behind it - The Oak View Group (OVG) – this week announced they had a signed a deal with Salford-based BAM construction to build the 'world class' arena on the banks of the Ashton Canal.
