Earlier this month, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) confirmed that by September 30 it had processed almost six million £150 disability cost of living payments to eligible claimants across the UK, worth around £900 million in total.
The Department also recently updated its online guidance to enable people to report a missing £150 disability or £326 means-tested cost of living payment if they cannot see it in their bank, building society or credit union account.
However, in response to a query from SNP MP, Owen Thompson, on when rollout of payments is expected to be completed, the DWP responded that this is unknown as they are still being made.
In a written response on October 13, Minister for Work and Welfare, Victoria Prentis, said: “It is not possible to determine what proportion of qualifying people have received a Cost of Living payment, as entitlement may not have been established at the time the payments were made.” She continued: “If an entitlement that would qualify for a payment is later established to have existed, a payment will then be issued at that time.”Put simply, this means that it could arrive anytime.DWP recently explained that there will be some cases - such as those who gained entitlement to this payment at a later date or where payments were rejected due to invalid account details - who will not be paid during the original payment window. These will be paid automatically as soon as possible - report a missing payment here. You can report a missing cost of living payment if you think you should have had one of the following payments but cannot see it in your bank, building society or credit union account:You will need your National Insurance number to report a missing payment.
