A mother and daughter team are feeling "frustrated" after a puzzling recycling rule left their bins uncollected. Ann Sharkey expressed her confusion when her daughter, Katherine, was denied bin collection because of visible plastic packaging from vegetables like lettuce, carrots, and celery in her wheelie bin.
When Katherine sought to understand the snub, she was told those kinds of packaging should be recycled back at the retailer reports the Mirror.
The baffling rule stunned 75-year-old Ann. She checked her own vegetable wrapping and found the instruction: "Recycle with bags at large supermarket.
Do not recycle at home."Based in Hunts Cross, with her daughter living with her partner and child in Warrington, Ann told the Liverpool Echo: "The binmen told her she needed to take the packaging back to the supermarket and wouldn't empty the bin.
