MP who caught train from London to Glasgow whilst knowing she had Covid-19 to appear in court

An MP who took a train from London to Glasgow knowing she had tested positive for Covid-19 is due to be sentenced today. Margaret Ferrier spoke in the Houses of Parliament and travelled around London in September 2020 whilst suffering with symptoms of the virus including a cough.

A court heard the independent MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West then took the train home to Glasgow after being told she had tested positive. She is due to be sentenced at the court on Tuesday, the PA news agency reports. The MP faced fresh calls to stand down from her position following her guilty plea.

During the hearing last month, the court heard that Ferrier did a test for Covid-19 on September 26 after showing symptoms, including a cough.
