Despite the buzz on social media about 'tips and tricks' to eliminate black mould, those home remedies and DIY hacks might actually be backfiring.
A popular method involving household bleach, believed by many to obliterate pesky black mould spots for sure, is now found to exacerbate the problem.
It turns out, that while bleach seems to work initially, it fails to address the underlying issue. As per a blog post by RPF Environmental, the blend of bleach and water, once deemed an effective "hack" against black mould, is only promoting its spread.
What will actually work to banish the mould for good, is a dehumidifier.
