Miranda Hart has taken to Twitter to deny reports that her popular sitcom is returning after a seven-year absence. The Sun reported that the actress and comedian had confirmed she had already written the fourth series of her hit show, after the last episode aired on New Year’s Day in 2015.
But sadly for fans, Miranda herself announced on Twitter that there were no plans for future series. “It’s so lovely when some people get excited there might be more Miranda.
Means a lot,” she tweeted. “But I’m afraid what was in the papers today didn’t come from me. Nothing planned at this time.”Fans responded to Miranda saying they were “genuinely gutted” by the announcement. “I think we could all do with some good news right about now and this would have been the best news ever!” tweeted @Galaxygal121. “I will have to let Miranda and Gary live on in my imagination!”Despite the news, many said that they still have hopes of the series returning to their screen one day. “Please come back at some point.
I’ve been holding my breath since January 1st 2015 for more,” tweeted @Brodieluke1. The first series of Miranda began in 2009, starring the now 49-year-old comedian, Sarah Hadland, Sally Phillips, Patricia Hodge, and Lucifer actor Tom Ellis.
