were given the green light by councillors last month.The £80m scheme will include a range of types of homes - from one-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom houses - with bosses saying half would be designated as family properties.The planned development, on 6.4 hectares of brownfield land bordered by Coleshill Street, Iron Street and Varley Street, which once included the Manox chemical dye factory and part of which is currently green space, will also include commercial office space, shops, cafés and restaurants, along with improvements to the canal towpath and over 8 square metres of new public green space and communal courtyards.The firm behind the scheme, Engie, who are part of the NPL Group, say it will also be low carbon and energy.
