Met Police and BBC release statements after investigation into Russell Brand

The Metropolitan Police has said it will speak to the Sunday Times and Channel 4 after their investigation about Russell Brand.

The comedian and actor has been accused of rape and sexual assaults between 2006 and 2013. He denies the allegations, which were made by a Channel 4's Dispatches, the Times and Sunday Times investigation.

The Met have said that they have not received any reports in relation to the TV personality but has encouraged anyone who has been the victim of a sexual assault to come forward.

Meanwhile the BBC has said it is 'urgently looking into the issues raised' in the joint investigation.
